This was my first time trying real matcha. I read some reviews on this exact matcha and they sounded promising. So I trusted it and gave this matcha a try. I read a lot about different flavors of different matchas and I wish in the description of this one there was a description of a flavor, at least a hint. But when I received the bag of matcha and opened it—a strong smell of seaweed/nori was smelled. I did not enjoy that. I thought maybe I won’t taste it when I mix it with liquid, but unfortunately I could taste it a lot and that’s just not something I was hoping for matcha to be. Very disappointed in the flavor of this matcha. Maybe if I mix it with oat milk it will be better as the first time I mixed it with was whole milk. A little disappointed with this purchase. I also did the stripe test on a sheet of paper to see how smooth or grainy this powder is. And it is pretty grainy which is not going to feel like a super smooth matcha when you drink it.

Really loved it! Strong flavor with only a hint of bitterness (which I like), beautiful color and aroma. I'd recommend, in general, that Tealyra specifies which cultivars are present in their matchas, I'd welcome that.

I have been drinking matcha since I was a teenager and I have tried many different kinds of matcha and brands of matcha. I have to say that Samurai Matcha Ceremony is my favorite and best matcha I have ever had! It is a wonderful deep green and the favor is smooth with no bitterness. It tastes so good paired with a good milk and stevia! I will keep coming back her for my matcha for years to come!!!

[FR] This was my first time ordering from Tealyra, and I’m beyond impressed. I’ve tried several matchas before, always on the lookout for one that balances quality and price—and I think I’ve finally found it. The flavor and color are outstanding, and at this price point, it’s hard to beat. I highly recommend it for matcha latté lovers (though I haven’t tested it in baking yet)!

Good quality matcha. Very enjoyable without any off-notes, oxidization, or excess bitterness. worth the extra cost if you plan to drink it plain. Since matcha oxidizes so easily, I was hesitant to buy matcha after Tealyra switched from foil to coated paper bags. My matcha arrived in a foil bag and I'm really happy to see Tealyra is still using these to package delicate matcha teas. Thank you ♥

Beautiful jade green tea and the smell was heavenly.Just finished my first cup and definitely very good quality .....tones of sweetness.but the color say's it all.
For sure this you can drink everyday and will not break the bank,.highly recommend.

This is great quality for the price. It has a very intense smell (which tells you it's the real deal) yet a very smooth taste.
I tried another matcha from a well known brand and it was a significantly paler green colour and had basically no smell at all. And it was only 6 months since production date, in a sealed foil bag.
I'm going back to this as soon as I finish the other stuff.

I really enjoy this Samurai Matcha. I was ordering ceremonial matcha from David's tea for many years, recently came across this website threw Google when I was looking for other options. This matcha is the best matcha I have ever had, I will be purchasing only this brand for now on as long as it is available to me. I also like that I can choose to have it shipped threw Canada post. I have recently purchased one of there oloong loose leaf teas it should be arriving next week. Really good affordable options on this site.

This Matcha is really great. I can use it to drink simple as everyday matcha for that price. Also its great to mix it with soya milk. For me Imperial matcha is overpriced compare to Samurai matcha :)

Tried the Izu Premium and the Everyday UJi and in terms of the more "budget" matcha, this is by far the best one. Best overall flavour, it's well rounded and tastes amazing. Barring the more expensive ones, I believe this one provides best bang for buck. Will be repurchasing!

This is absolutely my new favourite. I personally like the little sweet bitterness lingers in my mouth. As much as I like to whisk it the traditional way, I now mostly make my matcha in my Nespresso frother. Since I've given up coffee, I still make good use of it. The foam is smooth and thick and the temperature is perfect. Give it a try.

Over the past 5 years I have compared over 12 different brands of Matcha, some very expensive, some popular ones (DoMatcha), and many others including others on the Tealyra site.
This one beats everyone by flavor and taste and is now my watermark for any other matcha I try. It is also the most reasonable priced, and best matcha I drink hands down. I usually buy it in the 200g bag on sale and have 2 to 3 cups a day with almond milk.

It has a smooth, creamy matcha taste. I've tried Uji, Izu, and now this and this one is definitely the best tasting. I drink it just in water. If you're looking for an excellent matcha, I recommend this one.

This is my favorite matcha ever! It's a lovely bright green, smooth, flavorful, creamy, quick to blend, and has no bitterness whatsoever. It's absolutely phenomenal for the price point. I drink it straight, but it's also delicious when it's used in lattes (both hot and iced). It's so flavorful that it isn't overpowered by the milk at all. I've repurchased this multiple times and I recommend it all the time!

A great Matcha tea. Smooth, creamy with just the right amount of ' grass'and no bitterness at all. Had been drinking a store bought Matcha from a respected Taiwan company. They only had one type of Matcha and I drank it for over a decade. It had a bitterness that I tried to ameliorate with honey etc. This from Telyra is worth the premium cost . Drinking this daily is a pleasure to the senses and a luxury that is welcome. So much character

A wonderful tea. It has a bright green colour expected from high quality matcha. There is barely any bitterness. Notes of sweetness along with grass. It is too good to use as a latte. I suggest to drink it straight and use a lower grade for lattes.

Love this matcha. I started loving matcha lattes after starbucks introduced theirs, but hated the calorie and sugar content. I started with generic culinary grade, moved up to the Izu Matcha from here, and recently upgraded again to the Samurai. It is indeed flavorful and smooth. To me, a more pronounced flavor than the Izu. Not bitter or awkwardly strong, but definitely not overpowered by milk or light sugar. Blends very smoothly. Have not tried hot or on its own, but I take my iced latte seriously and this was well worth the price.

Delicious! This is the best matcha I've ever had. Granted I'm not an expert, but I've bought a few different ones over the years and this tops them all for sure. Super smooth, smells great, looks such an amazing green colour. Can't go wrong here in my opinion.

This order spoiled me. With past matcha offerings from another vendor, I used sweetener and milk, and thought the taste was good. This product allowed me to experience matcha, unadulterated, as the flavor and smoothness negated the need for additives. I didn't know what I was missing.

Matcha de qualité (pas d'amertume). Par contre, le goût de celui-ci est beaucoup plus discret que le ceremony grade 1. Si la saveur de thé vert est importante pour vous, choisissez-en un autre. Si vous voulez un matcha plus doux (moins fort) c'est un bon choix.

This was the first matcha i have ever tried and i really enjoyed it at first, but after everyday of drinking only this matcha i think i would rather have this in a collection rather than being the only one to drink. Not sweet enough for me personally. Although, a must try for matcha tea lovers!

Ce thé Matcha est d'une bonne qualité, cependant je préfère le thé Matcha Imperial Ceremony Grade 1. Oui le grade 1 est un peu plus cher, mais le goût est de meilleure qualité et sa couleur est d'un vert plus prononcé que le Samurai . Vous allez le préférerez c'est certain.
