White Shou Mei Aged 3 Years – Sweet, Mellow Aged Fujian White Tea

White Shou Mei is the most popular aged white tea. It's grown at an altitude of approximately 800 meters above sea level in China's beautiful northern Fujian Province. After the mature leaves are harvested and dried, the tea is aged for three years to develop its unique character.

There's a traditional proverb in Fujian that says white tea is "a tea after one year, a medicine after three years and a treasure after seven years." Aging transforms Shou Mei, deepening its sweetness and mellowing its character. Once steeped, this fine aged white tea releases a lovely fragrance of lotus flowers and a bright golden liquor.

I really like it, nice clean, slightly sweet taste.
There seems to be 4 or so types to the white and green tea, you can tell the sort of variety by the look of the leaves in the picture.
Ive definitely grown to like the leafy white teas, such as this one.

The taste is mild, but goes well with a little bit honey or maple syrup. The combination becomes nice. It is good for Autumn afternoon.

The taste is very mild. I prefer the other white tea from Tealyra.
