Description

Pai Mu Tan White Peony – Classic Flowery Fujian White Tea

Our fine Pai Mu Tan White Peony is a classic Chinese white tea, naturally grown and produced in Fujian Province. White Peony is made from the buds and young leaves that remain after the first-flush Silver Needle harvest. While it's slightly darker and bolder in aroma than Silver Needle, its pleasant sweetness clearly shows the family resemblance.

Pai Mu Tan is still plucked by hand in the traditional manner, at a ratio of two leaves to every bud, following strict quality and tasting standards introduced during the Ming Dynasty. Processing is kept to a minimum: the leaves and buds are withered and dried almost immediately after picking, preserving their delicate, natural character.

Tasting Notes

  • Dry leaf: silvery buds with green and brown leaves
  • Liquor: pale golden
  • Aroma: fine and flowery
  • Flavor: mild and gently sweet
  • Finish: a soft, sweet fruit-blossom finish

Why You'll Love It

Pai Mu Tan offers a fuller body than Silver Needle while remaining delicate and smooth — a perfect everyday white tea. It's minimally processed, naturally rich in antioxidants and gentle in caffeine, making it a calming choice any time of day.

  • A classic Fujian white tea
  • Hand-plucked two leaves and a bud
  • Minimally processed
  • Flowery, mild and sweet

How to Enjoy

Brew it in a gaiwan or teapot and enjoy several gentle infusions. It's lovely plain, pairs beautifully with fruit and light snacks, and makes a delicate, refreshing iced tea in summer.

Fine, flowery and beautifully gentle, Pai Mu Tan White Peony is a timeless white tea classic.
