Jasmine Shui Xian Narcissus Oolong – Jasmine Wuyi Rock Tea

Jasmine Shui Xian Oolong is a beautiful and sophisticated jasmine oolong. It's grown in the Wuyi rock tea region of Fujian Province, China, where a mild climate, abundant rainfall and elevations of more than 1, 000 meters create ideal growing conditions. Many of the region's tea gardens are nestled in rock gullies and caves, protected by surrounding mountains — natural conditions that give Wuyi teas their unique mineral charm.

Shui Xian, or "Narcissus, " is one of the classic Wuyi rock tea cultivars, known for its dark, rich character and floral depth. Jasmine, the famously fragrant night-blooming flower, is a classic Chinese tea flavor, and here it marries beautifully with the naturally floral character of this "darkest of the dark" oolong.

Tasting Notes

  • Liquor: clear, deep amber
  • Aroma: heady jasmine over roasted oolong
  • Flavor: floral, dark oolong with heavy jasmine notes
  • Character: smooth, with gentle Wuyi minerality
  • Finish: long and fragrant

Why You'll Love It

Jasmine Shui Xian is a unique pairing: the roasted depth of a Wuyi rock oolong with the uplifting perfume of jasmine. It's sophisticated, comforting and aromatic — a wonderful discovery for jasmine lovers and oolong fans alike.

  • From the Wuyi rock tea region
  • Classic Shui Xian (Narcissus) cultivar
  • Dark oolong with natural jasmine
  • Rewards multiple infusions

How to Enjoy

Brew it gongfu-style in a gaiwan or Yixing teapot for many infusions, or enjoy it in a teapot as a comforting afternoon cup. It pairs well with roasted nuts, dim sum and dark chocolate.

Dark, fragrant and elegantly floral, Jasmine Shui Xian is a sophisticated twist on a Wuyi classic.

This is our favorite of the many Jasmine teas we've tried from this site. It had a really strong but delicate Jasmine flavor, and the base tea flavor was also delicious.

Nice and mellow, low astringency and bitterness, golden-amber infusion, lovely jasmine aroma, and a mineral finish.

Lovely Oolong!

It was my first time to try Narcissus Oolong. I heard about it long time ago in the articles but had never got the chances to buy anywhere in Canada. It is more like typical Wu Yi rocky tea plus Jasmin. I like it.

Smells like perfume, overpowering jasmine scent. The tea leaves are black at ages (like they are all burnt) and I didn't like the taste of tea. I won't buy again.
