Huang Shan Mao Feng – Famous Yellow Mountain Green Tea

Huang Shan Mao Feng is one of China's Top Ten Famous Teas. Our artisan Huang Shan Mao Feng is grown and crafted in the Mount Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) area of Anhui Province, a misty, breathtaking region long celebrated for its tea. It was originally created by Xie Yuda during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty and has only grown in popularity since, thanks to its elegant aroma and taste.

This tea is made from tender spring leaves hand-picked just after the Qingming rains and processed using traditional pan-frying before drying. Open the bag and you'll be greeted by yellowish-green, slightly curled leaves with a refreshing, floral and bright character — a sign of the careful craftsmanship behind every batch.

Tasting Notes

  • Dry leaf: yellowish green and slightly curled
  • Liquor: clear, yellow jade
  • Aroma: refreshing, floral and bright, with orchid notes
  • Flavor: rich, sweet and smooth, with buttery green bean notes
  • Finish: clean, floral and lingering

Why You'll Love It

Huang Shan Mao Feng offers a perfect balance of sweetness, floral elegance and gentle depth — with no harsh bitterness. It's a refined, approachable green tea that's equally enjoyable for everyday sipping and special occasions. Like all green teas, it's naturally rich in antioxidants and provides a calm, focused lift.

Jan 2025 Review... Very nice flavors. At 190, 3min, it has a more smoky taste, like gun powder. At 185, 3min, the taste is a cross betwn a sencha/gun powder. Very unusual green. I mixed it too w/ my fav Ginseng Oolong at 200, 3min. Still smooth & relaxing! Got about 3-4 seeps.

I gave a friend of mine a cup of this tea and his words were better than anything I could have said.

After making all sorts of ooohs and mmmmms
"I've had green tea before... But now I feel like I've been lied to my entire life."

This is a great tea for the price. Not super top shelf. But for the price it's awesome.
