Bi Luo Chun – Famous "Green Snail Spring" Chinese Green Tea

Bi Luo Chun is one of China's most famous teas. Our artisan Bi Luo Chun is grown and crafted in the Dongting Mountain area of Jiangsu Province, near Lake Tai, and has a history of more than 1, 000 years. It's renowned for its delicate appearance and its elegant, deep aroma and taste.

The name Bi Luo Chun literally translates to "green snail spring, " describing this early spring green tea's tightly rolled spiral leaves, which resemble tiny snails. The slim, tightly rolled leaves are green, flecked with white downy buds throughout, and carry a rich herbal aroma. Legend says the tea's fragrance was once so intoxicating that it was nicknamed "scary fragrance" before an emperor gave it its poetic name.

The taste is sweet, fresh and mild, more between a typical green tea and yellow tea. The price is very good comparing with the quality If you can buy the fresh one in the current year.

This is a delightful, everyday tea at an affordable price. I like to brew mine strong and this tea stands up to that without becoming bitter or harsh. Lovely smooth and mellow taste - it's a keeper!

We found this tea nearly flavourless.
