Surajamukhi Assam Orange Pekoe – Bold, Malty Breakfast Tea

Grown and carefully produced in the beautiful and famous Assam region of India, this is the kind of tea that's often enjoyed as a classic breakfast tea or Irish breakfast tea — strong, satisfying and full of character.

"Orange Pekoe" refers to a high grade of whole-leaf black tea, and this Assam lives up to the name. Once steeped, it releases an aromatic, strong and fragrant bouquet. You'll appreciate the bright, rich color of the brew along with its tart top notes, malty flavor and vigorous body.

I really enjoy this full-bodied tea. It holds up to multiple steeps and has a lovely malt flavour. I was blending the Keemun with Assam # 8 but have now replaced the assam with this blend. It’s a lot cheaper and tastes almost as delicious.

Very pleasant Assam. I enjoy it as the first cuppa in the early hours of the day. Nice flavour and superb aroma of the dry leaves.

Not sure if I received a mixed batch but this tea reminds me of the time I stored English Breakfast bags with Constant Comment tea: dominant taste is orange citrus and spicy clove. Like someone put the orange in Orange Pekoe. Not what I expected!
