Jin Jun Mei – Classic "Golden Eyebrow" Fujian Black Tea

Jin Jun Mei, meaning "Beautiful Golden Eyebrow" in Mandarin, is a famous Chinese black tea known for its deep auburn-golden hue and delicate, slender leaves that resemble a beautiful eyebrow. It's one of China's most beloved teas, grown and produced in Fujian Province.

In springtime, the tender young leaves and buds are carefully plucked and allowed to fully oxidize — a process that gives Jin Jun Mei its deep, malty and aromatic profile. The finished tea is made of slim black and gold tips covered in a delicate golden fuzz, a sign of its high bud content and careful craftsmanship.

Tasting Notes

  • Dry leaf: slim black and gold tips with golden fuzz
  • Liquor: deep auburn gold
  • Flavor: sweet, honey-like and malty, with hints of vanilla
  • Texture: velvety smooth with a well-rounded mouthfeel
  • Finish: long, sweet and gentle

Why You'll Love It

Jin Jun Mei offers the natural sweetness and smoothness that make fine Chinese black teas so special — with no bitterness, just honeyed, malty depth. Its high proportion of golden buds gives it remarkable staying power, so you can enjoy several delicious infusions from the same leaves.

  • A famous Fujian black tea
  • Beautiful golden-tipped leaves
  • Honey, malt and vanilla notes
  • Velvety smooth with no bitterness

How to Enjoy

Jin Jun Mei is best enjoyed straight, without milk or sugar, so you can savor its natural honeyed sweetness. Try steeping it multiple times to discover how its flavor evolves from cup to cup. It pairs beautifully with pastries, fruit and dark chocolate.

Elegant, sweet and beautifully smooth, Jin Jun Mei is a timeless treasure of Chinese black tea.

I very much like this tea and i usually only like plain black supermarket tea. This tea here is nicely astringent with a flavour like bread and grass, which sounds odd but is really nice. Five stars.

I’m new too to elevated teas and I chose this to start with. I’m not sorry at all. Delivery was quick and since I ordered some flower bud teas everything came nicely packed in a box. This tea is superb and with a touch of honey it hit the right spot with me. It’s delicate yet earthy with a hint of vanilla. It reminded me of my gran dad’s vanilla tobacco for his smoking pipe but obviously delicate like a warm hug. Thanks for bringing back Cherished memories of him. It’s been priceless.

Honestly, this thing has become one of my favourite black teas. The scent it has is divine, and the complex malty, earthy, sweet and it's just... Something completely unique. I'm extremely bad at describing how things taste, but this tea just makes you think as you sip, and every time you take a sip, you notice something new in the flavour. This tea rewards you for taking it seriously, but is also super approachable for a newcomer. Definitely a must try for black tea lovers.

I have been drinking this tea for years. It is good taste, sweet, fragrant and mild. It goes gentle to the stomach. You can drink it full year around, any time, even during evening, won't give any problems for sleeping. The price is reasonable.
